Yeah it was working. I found out that VTEC wasn't even working. The car would sound like its switching lobes, however the VTEC lobe never kicked in. I now have 180whp, and 120trq, with cam gears set to 0. Still, why is my car still losing 20-30whp??? I really doubt that even with the new pump, and FPR I will get that much hp. How the hell did Jackson get 209whp on a stock ITR?? Something is really wrong!

Well, for one thing JR may not have run theirs with the stock intake. There has been more than one case where just removing the cover from the stock airbox netted over 10HP gain on an ITR.

I would walk over the whole install again before picking at rare, unherd of, problems. My car was running sub-par for months after a "Jackson Qualified" installer overlooked a single wiring mistake I had made (relay was connected wrong meaning I didn't get that resistor in the circuit and not enough fuel). Just like with any problem, triple check the BASIC install first! After you do that, verify things are working on a basic level from checking real time fuel pressure to monitoring boost in the manifold. From the problems posted on this board the stupidest shit has been f'ed up typically and it was just a matter of being anal enough to triple check things to verify they're working properly. From the WHP numbers you're posting, something is VERY wrong...there's so much power missing there that it has to be more than simple timing and cam settings issues.

thank you brntGSR! I could have not said it better my self. I am totally going to have my whole system looked over again. I totally agree the problem is more then a tuning issue! All I fear is a stupid place telling me that thye are going to have to pull the charger, and reinstall it, which will cost probally around over $1000.

Ok this is insane. I just got back from having my car dyno tuned at dynospot racing. Heres the story,
I got their at about 2:00 to start the 2.5hr session. My car had been running its best ever since the charger was installed today. We did a base run dyno, to see what it is currently. Take a guess at what I got! I really doubt anyone here can guess it. I got 155.6hp and 110.9trq!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone's chins dropped in the facility. I have been driving around since Oct with a JRSC ITR that's running less hp then a stock ITR!!!!!!
Anyways, we did like 10 runs total. The tuners their found out my timing was wrong, cams gears set wrong, VTEC AFC set wrong (due to VTM), fpr wrong, etc..... After hours of dark weather tuning we finally got a max reading of 179.3hp and 122.9trq. We could have tuned the gears, etc.... but with out my J&S installed, it would be way to risky to push the car anyharder with the FPR maxed out. I am still greatly shocked in these horrific numbers. The tuner had to max out my FPR just to get a semi-average fuel reading. Everyone their said for me to get a new fuel pump (Endyne modified Boshe pump), a cartech FPR, get my new cat installed, and get my new J&S safeguard unit installed. They hope that when I come back in a few weeks with my new mods, I will hit 200+hp. If I still do not hit a semi-reasonable reading they suggested to disassemble the charger and reinstall it to fix possable errors.
Right now my cam gears are set to 0, and my JR FPR is maxed out. Also my JR fuel pump is now really whining, and my car sometimes wil dye at idle! I have spoken to Endyne, and I am calling them Mon to order the Endyne/Bosche fuel pump, and a carTech FPR.
Can anyone give me some insight on this pardox??

F*CK THAT! They botched the intstall so they should eat the labor and any other expense that might have come from the fact that it was installed wrong. Isn't that the whole idea of having a JR certified installer do the install confused

BurntGSR - who was this "certified installer" ? Name and location pls.

Thats a scary thought, that you might dump all this money into a sub-par install job.

    Man, that sucks!

I am afraid to goto the dyno with my SC ITR now, fearing that the HP figures will be similar to yours.

But enough about me. If your VTEC is not engaging you might not have enough oil pressure, ad thus are losing about 30whp (without VTEC). Try checking the oil, and replacing it with synthetic, if you have not already done so.

I am sure there is an install problem though because my car is pretty damn fast (i think)

Good luck, hope you get it sorted, cause when you do I expect some mid 13s.

    biggrin

Guys, don't forget the importance of WHAT KIND OF DYNO WAS IT? Sport Compact Car is always talking about how the go to Under Pressure Research and Development or whatever it's called, and they don't have a DynoJet, they have some other one, and it always give lower readings. I think it was the kind that keeps it at X rpms for a bit, then runs it at another specific RPM point, etc. So maybe it's just a different dyno that gives different readings?

How fast can you 0-60 the car?
